Built on a rich, representative snapshot of the network, the report shows that food partnerships are delivering real, systems-wide change:

  • 81% report strong engagement with local authorities
  • 82% have engaged councillors, MPs, or mayors on food issues
  • Over two-thirds report strengthening their local food systems
  • Nearly half have influenced local food strategies, procurement frameworks, or council motions

This is more than local activity — it is an emerging national infrastructure for local delivery, advancing priorities around food access, public health, climate resilience, and fairer local economies.

The findings make a clear case: with sustained investment, deeper support for participatory governance, and greater recognition, food partnerships can unlock even greater impact — helping to transform local food systems for a fairer, greener future.
