Strong evidence for a food partnership approach in the Local Government Association Public health annual report 2023: Supporting communities in difficult times

Here are some of the reasons why Sustainable Food Places Food Partnerships are an exemplary model to advance Public Health according to the Local Government Association:

  • Access to food: food partnerships are extending the work of food banks and other sources of low-cost food.

 

  • Support often builds on interventions that have been established through public health in recent years – for example, making every contact count (MECC) initiatives and food partnerships.
