Enfield Food Partnerships (EFP) is a borough‑wide, cross‑sector partnership, bringing together community organisations, food providers, public sector services and residents to address food insecurity and build a healthier, fairer and more sustainable food system.
EFP aligns its work with the six Sustainable Food Places themes, taking a coordinated approach to tackling food poverty, improving access to healthy and sustainable food, and embedding food priorities across local policy and action.
The partnership operates through a structured governance model with a 14‑member steering group representing diverse community organisations and residents, supported by a wider membership.
Enfield Food Partnerships (EFP) coordinates a range of projects and campaigns aligned with the six Sustainable Food Places themes, with a strong focus on food poverty, community resilience and sustainable food systems.
A key programme is the Enfield Food Poverty Action Plan Draft (2025–2030), developed in response to the Enfield Poverty and Inequality Commission and extensive engagement with partners and residents with lived experience. The plan prioritises structural prevention of food insecurity, improved crisis provision, and long‑term resilience.
EFP has led borough‑wide initiatives to strengthen coordination across food provision, including collaboration with The Felix Project, supporting food distribution across multiple community sites and improving referrals to wraparound services such as financial, housing and mental health support.
The partnership has delivered engagement and mobilisation activities such as the Enfield Food Summit, which helped formalise the partnership, build trust and expand membership.
Ongoing projects include:
EFP also aims to embed food priorities across wider council strategies, including the Climate Action Plan and Joint Strategic Needs Assessment
Enfield Food Partnerships has experience in coordinating a cross-sector partnership to tackle food insecurity at borough level. We have developed and are delivering the Enfield Food Poverty Action Plan (2025–2030), shaped through engagement with partners and residents with lived experience, and aligned with the Sustainable Food Places framework.
Our work focuses on strengthening collaboration across 35+ organisations, delivering borough-wide engagement such as the Enfield Food Summit, and supporting practical initiatives including food provision mapping, surplus redistribution and capacity-building for community organisations. We also link food insecurity with wider priorities such as health inequalities, cost of living and climate action.
