Doncaster Food Network

Doncaster Food Network (DFN) re-launched in October 2025 after a few years hiatus. The DFN meets in-person bi-monthly, with each meeting focusing on one of the 5 aims of the Doncaster Food Plan, our local food strategy. The network and its meetings are coordinated by a member of City of Doncaster Council's Public Health team.

What we do

The Doncaster Food Network will support the delivery of the Doncaster Food Plan. The Doncaster Food Plan sets out a collective vision for food across the city, 5-year aims and objectives to work towards this, and a plan of action for how these aims and objectives will be achieved. The Food Plan has been co-produced by representatives from the council, third sector organisations, the public sector, and local businesses, and following a period of consultation involving over 1400 residents.

In the past the DFN were involved in the Delicious Doncaster annual events which are a city wide food event for Doncaster residents.

We have conducted a survey around food and weight as part of our compassionate approach to weight in conjunction with Leeds university led by our compassionate approach lead.
