Partneriaeth Bwyd Ceredigion

Partneriaeth Bwyd Ceredigion aims to build a local food system where everyone has dignified access to abundant, sustainably grown food, fostering healthy people and thriving local economies.

Formed in the summer of 2023, we are a diverse cross sector partnership with a steering group made up of members from Ceredigion County Council, CAVO, Biosffer Dyfi, Mentera, Hywel Da NHS, farmers, parents and teachers, chefs and food activists working collaboratively to transform our local food system.

We are hosted by Mentera, chaired by Ewan Tennant (ewan@aberfoodsurplus.co.uk), a food activist with Aber Food Surplus and coordinated by Ann Owen (ann.owen@mentera.cymru), market gardener and member of the Mach Vegbox collective.

What we do

  • So far we have funded and supported over 20 Good Food Projects including cookery classes, school and community gardening projects, new allotment creation, try-it-out market stalls for new foodbusinesses or ideas, community and field kitchens, farm to fork classes and more.
  • We work together with the Ceredigion Food Poverty network to help fund and support our foodbanks and other emergency food providers.
  • We provide our insights and expertise to research projects such as UNESCO-MOST Bridges Sustainable Food Cymru, Cymru Wledig LPIP Rural Wales, NHS Wales Whole Systems Approch, A Bigger Conversation and others
  • We work with our neighbouring Local Food Partnerships to develop regional projects around Food Resilience and Emergency Preparedness, Machinery Rings and Short Food Supply Chain Logistics
  • We generally try and keep the topic of Good Food for All on the table, wherever we go and whomever we engage with!
