Find a seed swap near you

Seeds hold such potential, not only biologically, but socially too - they hold the key to being in control of what is grown, how well-adapted to place it can be, to growing culturally-appropriate foods, to culture-forming, and identity sharing.

‘Seed is the source of life and the first link in the food chain. Control over seed means a control over our lives, our food and our freedom. We should turn our roof tops into gardens, which are seed sanctuaries, because the seed is centuries of evolution, a gift of our ancestors and needs to be saved as a gift for future generations.’
Vandana Shiva

Seeds hold such potential, not only biologically, but socially too - they hold the key to being in control of what is grown, how well-adapted to place it can be, to growing culturally-appropriate foods, to culture-forming, and identity sharing.

In so many places across the UK there are formal and informal seed-swaps going on, and we would like to encourage you to find them, create them, talk about them, share some seeds and recipes to go along with them.

If you are part of a Sustainable Food Place partnership - share your seed swaps with others, and if you are unsure of whether one is taking place near you - go ahead and find out, or think of starting your own.
