<p>With the consultation of the Scottish Government’s local food plan currently open and the election promise of bringing the <a href="https://www.gov.scot/policies/food-and-drink/good-food-nation/">Good Food Nation </a>Bill into Scots Law, how we use the public purse to not only source good food but also to nourish our local communities, economies and environment is a hot topic! But how does public procurement work and what opportunities are there for local food businesses to get involved?</p>
<p>With speakers from City of Edinburgh Council, Scotland Excel, Soil Association and local suppliers, this session will take you on the journey of public procurement from the decision to tender a contract to the food arriving on the plate. There will be a panel Q&A to the ask experts those knotty questions, find out what opportunities there could be for your food business and what the future holds for public procurement in Scotland.</p>
